Šaltasis asfaltas – bene vienintelė efektyvi priemonė
asfaltbetonio dangoje atsiveriančių duobių remontui žiemą. Darbus
rekomenduojama atlikti ne žemesnėje kaip -5°C temperatūroje.
Technologija sekanti: sulūžusios dangos vietoje iškertama
stačiakampio formos, vertikaliais šlaitais duobė. Duobė nuo nešvarumų išvaloma
oro srove arba šepečiu. Duobės kraštai ir dugnas palaistomi bitumine emulsija
(0,5 litro į kvadratinį metrą). Maišas su šaltojo asfalto mišiniu padaužomas,
kad turinys lengviau išslystų iš maišo, ir išpilamas į duobę. Šaltojo asfalto
mišinys paskleidžiamas duobėje taip, kad jį sutankinus, dangos paviršius duobės
viduryje būtų apie 2 cm aukščiau esamos dangos. Šaltojo asfalto mišinys
tankinamas pneumatuniu plamktuku arba vibroplokšte nuo kraštų į vidurį. Baigus
tankinimą, duobės paviršius pabarstomas smėliu arba atsijomis ir dar kartą
lengvai sutankinamas. Duobės kraštai plonai palaistomi bitumo emulsija. Jei
duobės gylis didesnis nei 5 cm, užpildymas šaltojo asfalto mišiniu ir
sutankinimas atliekamas dviem sluoksniais.
Šaltojo asfalto mišinys fasuojamas į sandarius
polietileninius maišus. Sandėliuojamas šaltojo asfalto mišinys turi būti
apsaugotas nuo atmosferos ar kitokio vandens poveikio. Sandėliavimo temperatūra
– ne mažesnė kaip 0° C.
